God's Invitation to the Unknown
#15: On today’s episode, we are exploring what might be possible to be comfortable in the unknown. I know I may not be alone in saying this but ever since the pandemic, we seem to be living in a more unfamiliar world than ever before.
It seems this unfamiliar territory isn’t going to change anytime soon so how can we calm our souls so we aren’t in a constant state of trying to understand the meaning or make sense of everything?
Key Take-Aways:
- Being in the unknown is an invitation from God to trust him more.
- Isaiah 55:8-9 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
- No matter what happens, we have victory in Christ.
- Jeremiah 29:11 ”For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
- When you only see two different outcomes or what is also known as the duality pendulum. It is black or white thinking. Outcome A or B.
- In order to break this pendulum of swinging back and forth between only two possible outcomes, you are invited to sit down and write out 20 more possible outcomes.
- Being comfortable with the unknown is being in God’s presence.
- Romans 8:38-39 "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Heavenly Position Guidance Challenge:
For this week’s HPS Challenge, take out your journal and spend at least 15 minutes in a quiet space if possible. For the next 15 minutes, take a problem, situation or whatever your mind is focusing on right now. Are you stuck in the duality pendulum? Take the next 15 minutes and write out 20 other possible outcomes. Don’t hold back. Get as wild as possible with your ideas. Have fun with it. Once you’ve gotten all other possibilities out, assess your soul. What are you experiencing now in your countenance?
